Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
Summary
- You own your notes. We just store them for you — and only if you use a cloud vault.
- Markdown is always exportable. You can walk away with your data at any time.
- brainlog is in beta: expect rough edges, keep exports of anything precious.
- Don't use brainlog for illegal activities.
- You are responsible for content you share publicly and for what your connected agents write.
1 · Agreement
By using brainlog ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you
disagree with any part, don't use the Service.
2 · The Service
- Markdown note-taking organized as Folder → Section → Page
- Task and board views derived from checkboxes inside your pages
- Live co-editing, share links, and folder invitations
- An agent connection (MCP) that can read and write — never delete — on your behalf
- A desktop app with a free local vault, and a hosted cloud vault
3 · Accounts
- Accounts are created by an administrator or through a folder invitation — there is no public self-registration during the beta.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials — and any agent tokens you generate — confidential, and for all activity under your account.
4 · Plans & payment
- Local vault — free. The desktop app with your data in a folder on your machine. No account with us required for the vault itself.
- Cloud vault — €5/month per account. During the beta, billing is handled directly with the operator, outside the app; there is no in-app checkout.
- Cancel anytime: export your data, stop paying. Access to the hosted service ends with the paid period.
5 · Acceptable use
You agree not to use brainlog to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Store or share content that is illegal, or that infringes others' rights
- Attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the service
- Resell or redistribute the hosted service without permission
6 · Your content
- Your notes are yours. You retain all rights to what you write.
- You grant the operator only the technical license needed to store, render, and back up your content in order to run the Service.
- Share links make content readable by anyone holding the URL; you are responsible for what you choose to share.
- Actions taken by an agent connected with your token count as your actions.
7 · Beta, warranty & liability
- The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, during the beta.
- Export regularly. Markdown export exists precisely so no failure of ours can hold your writing hostage.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.
8 · Termination & changes
- You can stop using the Service at any time; ask the operator to delete your account.
- The operator may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
- These Terms may change as the beta evolves; material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
